Covered under the Patent, Design and Trademark Act, 2022 (1965).
Eligible Designs:
- New and original designs not previously disclosed
- Designs applied to products such as furniture, textiles, packaging, tools, etc.
Design Registration Process in Nepal
- Application submission with design representation
- Formal examination
- Publication in the IP Bulletin
- Certificate issuance

- Visual representation of design
- Description of the product/design use
- Business/citizenship proof
- Power of Attorney (if applicable)
Validity Period
Registered designs are valid for 5 years, renewable twice (maximum 15 years).
